Lianhua x Whale | Powering Full-Store Digital Transformation with Smart Interactive Displays

Under the influence of the pandemic, competition in the supermarket industry has intensified. In this context, community supermarkets, large supermarkets, and convenience stores have become focal points in the retail sector. Facing high pressure, Whale, leveraging its industry expertise and project experience in the digital retail field, partnered with Lianhua Supermarket to help achieve deep online-offline integration, reconstruct people, goods, and retail spaces, meet user needs, and enhance industry efficiency.


In this collaboration, based on Lianhua’s brand image and offline operations, we focused on two aspects: supermarket operations and customer operations, providing partners with various solutions through tools such as WeChat Official Accounts, Mini Programs, and micro-stores.


When customers enter an offline store, Whale SpaceSight collects data such as store entry counts, customer age, gender, and facial recognition (where applicable), helping management gain a more detailed understanding of foot traffic. Combined with Whale Alivia, it uses data to present customer browsing paths, heat zones, and more, assisting management in member management, optimizing displays, improving product selection strategies, and achieving a closed-loop online-offline business model.


In this cooperation, Whale's store digital upgrade solution has enabled full-scene digitalization across the store. When customers approach a shelf and pick up a product, the display screen shows product information in real-time and provides an interactive experience, allowing users to complete their shopping through a fresh and engaging process. CMS display screens deployed at key aisle locations cycle through product videos and promotional information, attracting customer attention and extending dwell time. Customers can quickly access promotional details, and the new interactive mode helps drive conversion and sales of promoted products.


With the help of SpaceSight, traditional stores serve as offline touchpoints for online traffic. Four solutions are provided, including store digital upgrades, multi-channel operations, commercial membership programs, and precision marketing, helping offline stores expand their online business, achieve unified online-offline management, and offer services such as data visualization, forecasting, and analysis.
